Masters’ Seminar in remembrance of our founder

sem1

Saiko Shihan Goshi Yamaguchi recently hosted a commemorative seminar for all instructors of Shihan rank and above in September 2014 in Tokyo, Japan. The commemoration marked the 25th anniversary of the passing of our Founder, Kaiso Gogen Yamaguchi and saw many of the most senior instructors from the International Karatedo Gojukai Association from around the world training together and sharing insights & camaraderie.

The following Shihan from South Africa represented Karatedo Gojukai South Africa at the seminar:

Peter Brandon Hanshi

Frank Brandon Shihan

Francois Du Plessis Shihan

Darrin Buttner Shihan

They were joined by Leonard Martin Shihan, Chief Instructor for Karatedo Gojukai Namibia who represented his country on behalf of Trevor Norval Shihan, President of Gojukai Namibia.

Opportunities for our senior instructors to come together with their counterparts from around the world are rare. It was a truly special seminar that has undoubtedly further strengthened Kaiso Gogen Yamaguchi’s vision to continuously improve and spread our beautiful art. We are grateful to and proud of our instructors who represented us all and their experience will undoubtedly bring further wisdom to our training.
